Valve extensions are often defective
Inadequate maintenance and care are the most common causes of tyre failure. In the case of twin wheels, in particular, the inner running wheels often lead a wallflower existence in this regard. Checking the tyres is actually child"s play, provided that the testing device can be easily positioned on the valve extension. The fact is that this is not happening in practice. Valve extensions are frequently not attached correctly or are damaged. Typical defects are valve extensions that have been broken off, are leaky or missing.

Insufficient air pressure in tyres is always a risk
If the valve extension has had it, it is no longer possible to control air pressure or to inflate the inner tyre, because the testing device cannot be positioned on the defective component. In this case, only laborious manual labour can come to the rescue. In the case of single wheels with a hub cap, for example, the hub cap has to be removed before the valve can be accessed. In the case of twin wheels, the inner twin can only be reached if the outer wheel is removed. If the valve extension is defective, therefore, the aspirations of both the driver and the mechanic to test the air pressure of the inner twin tyre are often frustrated. This failure to take action can have fatal consequences. If the air pressure of the inner twin tyre is neglected, the outer tyre must work much harder. This means that the tread wears down more quickly and the vehicle needs more fuel. In addition, if the vehicle is heavy, the tyre quickly exceeds its load limits and the tyre can even burst.

Air-Flexx valve extensions are robust and flexible
"A functioning and undamaged valve extension is a question of vehicle safety", Tobias Glauch, manufacturer of Air-Flexx valve extensions, says. However, a reliable extension places great demands on material and engineering. Glauch Produkt GmbH has developed a robust and flexible system, Air-Flexx, which is made possible by a multi-layered structure combining materials such as stainless steel and high-performance plastics. This ensures that the extension is enormously flexible, while remaining totally unbreakable. It also offers a high degree of stiffness, which, in most cases, makes a valve holder or holding bracket superfluous. A trade mark of the Air-Flexx valve extension is the valve rod with a stainless steel core which is integrated into the air pipe. If the air pressure testing device is positioned on the extension to check the pressure or inflate the tyre, the valve rod exerts pressure on the valve core of the valve in the rim. The way into the inner part of the tyre is free and the air can flow in. If the testing device is then removed, the pressure on the valve rod is also removed. The extension then switches to pressureless mode, so to speak and, at the same time, the valve core closes the valve in the rim again.

DEKRA seal of approval certifies suitability for all applications
A seal of approval from the expert organisation DEKRA certifies that Air-Flexx valve extensions offer a high degree of resistance to chafing, tears and cracks even under difficult operating conditions. The prestigious certificate was awarded on the basis not only of laboratory tests and material tests but also an extensive practical test carried out at a haulage contractor in southern Germany. For an entire summer, the extensions had to prove themselves in a field trial in construction site traffic under the supervision of DEKRA, in which the valve extension was used on, inter alia, the twin tyres of dumper trucks, semi-trailer tractors and lat bed vehicles for heavy haulage. In the opinion of DEKRA, the Air-Flexx system passed its trial by fire with flying colours. According to DEKRA its handling during installation and air pressure checks gets top marks.
